Jeff T. Thomas directed over 100 music videos and 70 commercials in 16 different countries before directing television drama in the US. He began his career in music videos quickly earning a reputation for beautifully crafted and engaging narratives. Jeff directed promos for bands such as Travis, Embrace, Zero 7, The Bill Nighy project (co-directed with Richard Curtis), Funeral For A Friend, Paulo Nutini, Jet and eight videos for the band Ash.

Jeff’s success in music videos led to work in television commercials where he made an impact directing innovative and award-winning projects for brands such as Audi, Nissan, Playstation, T-Mobile, Nokia, Renault, Muller, Vauxhall, Coca Cola and Vodafone. The Vodafone spot is the biggest commercial to be shot in Bucharest to date featuring thirteen hundred extras with no post-produced crowd duplication.

In television drama, Jeff directed the pilot and second episode of the Cold War era mini series The Assets, which was ABC News’ first ever fully scripted drama. The drama was primarily shot against the ex-Soviet backdrop of Lithuania, shooting in actual Cold War era locations such as a former KGB prison.

The show also required extensive set builds including a 1980s CIA bullpen, foyer and several Washington DC homes. In addition to directing the pilot and second episode, Jeff was Supervising Producer on all eight episodes of the mini series.

The Assets garnered a rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars with the first 100,000 views on Netflix.

Jeff has also directed numerous high profile shows including being the only director to shoot episodes from both seasons of M Night Shyamalan & Donald De Line executive produced event series Wayward Pines.

Wayward Pines was aired simultaneously in 125 countries in 2015, making the series the largest day and date launch for a scripted drama.

Jeff also directed six episodes of the hit TV show Scorpion, three episodes of Blindspot, two episodes of the Kevin Williamson created Stalker and two episodes of the Sean Bean spy thriller Legends for TNT, which was shot on location in Prague.

Jeff’s second episode of Stalker was voted a 9.5 on IMDB.

Jeff has also directed Vegas created by Greg Walker and Nicholas Pileggi (Casino and Goodfellas) and two episodes of the Jonathan Nolan created /JJ Abrams executive produced Person of Interest. In addition, Jeff has also directed five episodes of Without a Trace, seven CSI:NY’s, two CSI:CYBER’s, one Hawaii Five-O and the medical drama Three Rivers. In sci-fi, Jeff directed Almost Human and Fringe for Bad Robot and in comedy he directed Jim Belushi’s The Defenders also for Greg Walker and the action/comedy Undercovers, again for Bad Robot.

Jeff has had the pleasure of working with a wide range of actors including Matt Dillon, Melissa Leo, Sean Bean, Dennis Quaid, Viola Davis, Terrence Howard, Patricia Arquette, Djimon Hounsou, Jason Patric, Tom Sizemore, Dylan McDermott, Maggie Q, Karl Urban, Taraji P. Henson, Scott Caan, Carrie-Ann Moss, Hope Davis, Jonathan Banks, Mira Sorvino, Anthony Lapaglia, Sullivan Stapleton, Shannon Sossaman, Gary Sinise, Jim Caviezel, Ted Danson. Originally from South Wales and a long-time resident of London, Jeff currently resides in the Hollywood Hills.
